Traditional Chinese Medicine is a type of holistic, natural health care system that dates back to over 2000 years to the year 200BCE.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is “holistic” and “natural” because it stimulates the body’s own healing mechanisms and takes into account all aspects of a patients life,
rather than just several obvious signs or symptoms.
Traditional Chinese Medicine aims to correct imbalances in the body and primarily work in 3 major ways:
- Addressing a patients external factors and environment
- Helping patients relate to their internal emotions in a healthier way, including managing stress
- Improving someones lifestyle factors, including diet and exercise routine.
Traditional Chinese Medicine draws on the belief that vital energy (referred to as Qi ) is essential for overall health; and that Yin and Yang (opposing but complimentary energies) needs to be in balance.
Traditional Chines Medicine treatment aims to restore there equalising relationship.
